Agriculture Stories For The Other 99%

A Conversation That Matters
7

Yesterday, I sat down with Liz Reitzig on Substack Live to talk about something that affects everyone who eats: agriculture.

We covered the dangerous realities of farming, the everyday stories that never make it into the news, and the baffling absence of an agriculture category on Substack—even though there are now over 30 ag publications (that I know of) writing here.

We talked about broken trade policies, farmers as bullet sponges for tariffs, and the quiet pride and pain behind the food on your plate. It wasn’t all serious—there were laughs, real moments, and a damn good rant about Mario Kart and turmeric lattes.

But most importantly, it was honest.

And in the middle of it all, we shouted out to

—the non-farmer who planted a seed by starting a petition to give farmers a voice here.

This isn’t just about a category anymore.

It’s a movement.

So, if you missed us yesterday, give it a listen.

If you care about food, community, or truth—somebody’s farm is where it starts.

And if you haven’t yet, click here to sign the petition, restack the notes, and share the stories.

Because agriculture matters.

Because we matter.

And it’s time someone listened.🌱
