You are not alone, Adam! We've all got our demons. Can't make these live video things (and EVERYONE is doing them now...) but know I'm in your corner here in Iowa. At the Iowa Farmers Union we're about to start some peer-to-peer mental health outreach so will keep you posted on how that goes.
Farming not for the faint of heart they have always said. My grandmother told me that at the end of the depression they survived the winter on cabbage and whatever else from the garden. She ate cabbage till she died. Owned 160 acres rented others. Provided all necessary grain for livestock. Gave me a great and memorable childhood. Many lessons still used to this day. Farming is harder these days with all the regulations and megafarms. The goal is to eliminate the small farmer. Don't let that happen. Have to work together and support each other unique skill sets.
I’m a west coaster now but I grew up on a dairy farm in SE Kansas. It was a great life for a little kid but I know how hard the life is. It’s a crapshoot in the best of times partnering with Mother Nature. Dad used to get phone calls in the middle of the stormiest nights letting him know some cows were out and he’d get dressed and go round them up. Anyway I look forward to your missives and always wishing you the best mental health wise.
Fear not! Your bravery does not go unnoticed nor unappreciated.

I'd like to go up in the mountains for a while. I want to elude the craziness of these days.

Always know your writing, and this video, are as colorful and truthful as Mark Twain’s. Seriously rooting for you in every way.
