Now you've gone and done it. I'm knee deep in edits on book two and you throw out there you have a tube channel? Holy cow, two of them! An author can only handle being pulled in so many directions before she becomes too busy with social media to write. But if I had a you tube channel, what would I do with it? You made me think about it. đŸ˜‰ On the other side, I'm glad you had a good harvest year. On a scale, is this year just good, or incredibly amazing numbers?

Tracy, I feel you on the social media rabbit hole—it’s way too easy to get wrapped up in everything but the actual writing.

Honestly, YouTube started out as an experiment, but it’s been fun sharing the process and connecting with folks, especially with all the trial data we’ve been working on. So far, it feels like a better fit than traditional seed meetings.

This year’s harvest? Solid, but not quite incredible. The numbers were good across the board, but it’s those soybean yields that really threw me for a loop—in a good way! For a hot second, I thought we’d made it to Iowa.

But with prices where they are, it feels like you NEED a record-breaker just to make ends meet. Still, I’ll take a ‘good’ year any day!

Thanks for the support, and hey, if you start a YouTube channel, I’ll be the first subscriber! đŸ˜‰

Congrats on the year. I helped coach a minor hockey team in Kingston and the goalie was Gord Downie. His mother and mine played bridge together for a few years.

Gee cripes! I didn’t think I’d find myself almost in Gord Downie’s orbit by noon on a Tuesday. You’ve blown my mind! What was he like back in the day? Please tell me you’ve got some stories to go with that connection!

He was 6 or 7, my brother played on the team as well. He was an okay goalie. My dad coached the goalies I coached defence. My brother knew him a bit more personally. I was 14 or 15 at the time. So no great stories. Closest I can come was just before the final show in Kingston, a few months before it actually, my mom said she had been playing bridge with Gord’s mother who was saying she had been inundated for requests for tickets. I was actually offered a ticket to the show by an old high school friend but that was in my car racing days and there were points to be had at a track a few hours away. So I stayed at the track and prepped and got my points.

Bruce, thanks again for sharing—it’s incredible how small the world can feel sometimes!
