This is true. My husband and I went to an Ag show in Michigan this summer, and the teams of corporate drones in logo pressed polo shirts seemed to outnumber the actual farmers. Some of the combines and whatnot were cordoned off so you couldn't actually touch them. It was a big disappointment. Still free ice cream sandwiches, tho.
Brilliantly accurate description of an ag show almost anywhere in the world. Day one at ours all the machinery reps eager to accost you, by day three reps all looking forlorn and confused.
Hat off to you sir. This is top notch stuff. I’ve tried my hand on a few stories and thought they were alright. Not anymore!
Beautiful story telling. Looking forward to reading more.
I loved this. Keep 'em coming.
Thanks so much, Peter! 🙏

Field trials tell nothing but the best and worst varieties for that particular soil, with that years particular weather.
Forewarned is forearmed…I’ll never see a farm show the same way again! A journey to the heart of the American Dream.
