You hit the nail on the head. I have been moving forward and writing the stories in my head. The comfort zone is a great place, but I've been there long enough. This is my year to publish the first one.
Tracy, your comment reminds me of an interview of investing legend Jim Rogers I watched a few years back.
The reason Rogers performed so well in the markets was his ability to “close his eyes and hand over the slip,” as he put it.
Back then, floor traders used a physical ticket when they entering trades instead of clicking a mouse.
Rogers said his best trades were the scariest and most difficult to enter, but he fought through it and handed in the slip.
When the markets melt down, it’s the guys like Rogers with the courage to buy (when everybody else is scared to do the same) who takes home the fortunes.
I think writing is similar to Rogers approach to investing. As scary as it feels we need to close our eyes and hand in the slip, or hit the publish button.
Thanks so much for reading, and good luck with that first piece. 😊
I had to write immediately that I am sure she would've loved finding the nuties over what she found in the vase, or my barbies.......... really hope you remember the vase.
I'm not telling anyone what to do or what it means. But the stack of nudie mags would be one of the first things I think of when I thought of you. Perhaps that makes me a bad person. But whether it's bad or good, the things found post death are among the first memories I have of dead relatives. Not judgementally exactly, but like a "Hey you know what I found cleaning out Uncle Steve's basement after he died?"

Nicely done.
