Shadowboxing with a flea—that’s brilliant! Lack of communication is definitely one of my biggest frustrations with agriculture, really grinds my gears, and it’s about time someone called it out. Here’s to better communication and fewer fleas!

FINALLY! Thank you Adam! Once again you hit the nail on the head. I'm SO tired of reading people's minds - always getting it wrong and then being resented for it. It's like shadowboxing with a flea. Make it stop folks. It's not that hard. It's not "rude" to say what you're thinking but it's incredibly disrespectful to not say it and then blame the person when they make other assumptions.

Hi Adam,

This article is really good, as I love this type of team self-help, content. Thanks!

I am an ag team facilitator and leverage some practices to help smooth out some of the business interactions and challenges... such as how to manage requirements (i.e. Requirements Management --> or "RM") and other process-enablers.

RM is especially helpful as groups of requirements can be associated with best practices, roles (People), functions, and processes.

One other note is to alert team members, when they join... to understand that all teams go through the four stages of team maturation over time namely; Form, Storm, Norm and Perform.

You can't skip a stage even if you'd like to!

I find that by combining both RM and Team Maturation training, you can make some good progress in getting the business practices to tighten and improve.

The last item is finding a free Software As A Service (SaaS) platform for remote collaboration which allows RM. This I cover on Track #2 for Pro Farmers at Blog.1782Farm.com.

Best of End of Summer Wishes,

Phil Wilson
