This made me laugh and reminded me of a time 30 short years ago in my hometown.
I had a house on m
Main Street in my town of 500 people. Eveyone knows everyone's business and that of the previous thtee generations.
Buddy calls me Monday morning asking how my weekend was. I told him it was alright as I went to a dance in the nearby town.
He laughed, prodded me for more information, eventually telling me his father heard at coffee row that I spent the night in the drunk tank.

All because small towns don't let the truth get in the way of a good story... Think I feel a full piece coming on about this one.
This is why kids leave small towns for the anonymity of the city (well that and jobs).
I drag raced a guy who turned out to be my dad's business partner. I was asked by my dad about it but funny nobody asked why a full grown lawyer was drag racing a teenager.
Small Towns
My dad used to say young men from small towns are proud of two things.. the size of their dicks and where they came from, both of which they had nothing to do with.
Hell, it happens to adults too! Iowa is way over its per cap gossip per person. It's amazing how many people make decisions based on "what they've heard" about a person.
Yeah, small towns are interesting. A few years later I was a regular at coffee/breakfast. Buddy's dad and I became friends. I brought up the story one day to clear my name but I think that was more entertaining than the original story? Ll

I like to say I could ask a question at one end of the breakfast table and by the time it got to the other end, it was fact
